"Meh- they're just straps."Very happy with my purchase and it's definitely recommended! That said, the foam is thick enough to ensure weapons are safe. The velcro retaining straps also fit this piece as well. This case perfectly fits a 22 caliber bolt action rifle with a scope. You'd be better off investing in something sturdier. My scoped rifles fit nicely, and are much faster to access with this case. The only improvement I would suggest is some padding for the shoulder strap.

"This bag is great."All-in-all, I'm glad I gave this sharp looking'MARLIN' case a chance. I've seen much more expensive bags made from poorer materials. The front pockets are solid, and perfectly sized for 30rnd magazine or smaller. But will only fit 1 scoped tactical rifle. I use it walking to the stand and leave it on the ground while hunting. Al this said, without end latches I question if this will be water proof. You can't run your truck over it and expect your rifle to escape undamaged.
